AN Garda Síochána have renewed their appeal for information on the eve of the 13th anniversary of the murder of Andrew Burns.
On Tuesday February 12 2008, Mr Burns was gunned down at Donnyloop, Castlefinn by a number of individuals.
Shortly after 7pm the 27-year-old received a number of gunshot wounds. He was later found on a roadway close to Donnyloop Church and pronounced dead shortly before 8pm.

GARDAÍ HAVE RENEWED their appeal for information over the murder of Andrew Burns in Donegal 13 years ago.
Ahead of the 13th anniversary of his murder, An Garda Síochána are renewing its appeal for information into the death of Andrew Burns.
Burns was shot dead on 12 February 2008 in the Dunnyloop area of Castlefin shortly after 7pm. His body was discovered on a roadway close to Donnyloop Church and pronounced dead shortly before 8pm.
To date one person has been convicted of this murder and is currently serving a life sentence. However, gardaí believe a number of people were involved in the murder.
A former vet who is wanted to face multiple charges of sexual activity with animals and of having extreme pornographic material has appeared before the High Court on foot of an extradition warrant.

Yesterday in Letterkenny Circuit Court, a former priest of the Diocese of Raphoe, was sentenced to two years imprisonment for the sexual abuse of a minor in 1985. He was a priest in the diocese from 1976 and was removed from ministry immediately on reception of the complaint in 1998. The Gardai and HSE/ Tulsa were informed then.
In a statement released last night, the Diocese of Raphoe, Bishop Alan McGuckian said he was deeply saddened that an innocent child had to endure this devastating abuse.

“It is all the more serious that it involved abuse by someone in a position of sacred trust and power. I apologise sincerely to the man who suffered and to his family. I fully accept that no apology can undo the harm inflicted on an innocent child.
