Lebanon seeks Covid-19 vaccine urgently Lebanon seeks Covid-19 vaccine urgently Beirut, Dec 28 (Prensa Latina) The Lebanese Ministry of Health contacted Chinese, Russian, and international pharmaceutical representatives to urgently purchase Covid-19 vaccines, as per official statements. According to the Ministry, there is an ongoing search for the most effective vaccine so as to approve its application in the country. So far, the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine met those tests and an emergency use authorization was obtained. The drug will begin arriving in Lebanon in February and will cover 15 percent of the six million residents in the country. There are also negotiations with the Kovacs global platform in order to obtain additional doses, after its effectiveness is approved by the World Health Organization.
