Construction activities will be allowed and factories will be reopened first, said Delhi CM
The national capital Delhi, which is recovering from the second wave of Covid-19, will begin the unlocking process from Monday, Delhi Chief Minister Kejriwal said on Friday.
The ongoing lockdown will last till Monday (May 31) 5 am and and the unlocking process in the city will be done in a “gradual manner” from that day, he said addressing a digital press conference. To begin with, keeping the interests of the daily wage workers in mind, the Delhi government has decided to permit construction activities and also reopen factories from Monday, he said.

With positivity rate down, CM says it’s time to open up
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, after a meeting with Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal to discuss the COVID-19 situation in the city, on May 28 said the national capital will gradually begin unlocking from next week.
In a video message after a meeting of the Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) chaired by Mr. Baijal, the Chief Minister said the process of opening up will be gradual, as per the advice of experts.

The Goods and Services Tax Council, led by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, on Friday decided to exempt Integrated Goods and Services Tax on import of free Covid-related supplies till August 31,
The Indian Express reported. The council also added Amphotericin B, the drug used in the treatment of mucormycosis, or “black fungus”, in the list of items exempted from the IGST.
India reported 1,86,364 new coronavirus cases in 24 hours on Friday morning, taking the overall tally to 2,75,55,457 since the pandemic first broke out in January 2020. The toll rose by 3,660 to 31,88,95, while the active caseload stood at 23,43,152.
On a day Delhi reported 153 new Black Fungus infections, Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal issued regulations under the Epidemic Diseases Act, making it mandatory for healthcare facilities to report cases of the infection.
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will hold a meeting on Friday to decide whether the city's Covid-induced lockdown can be lifted after May 31, with the national capital registering a steady drop in coronavirus cases over the last few days.
