JAMMU, May 7: Expressing concern over rising number of COVID-19 cases in J&K and subsequent deaths, BJP J&K Executive Member, Raman Suri today urged the administration to gear up to meet the challenges ahead and also urged common people to cooperate in fighting the pandemic.
He said, though doctors and paramedics are doing their best within the given parameters and resources at their disposal, yet more is required to deal the situation that is much more alarming than it was last year.
Suri said that scenes of patients being administered oxygen in hospital compounds and stairs are shocking and speaks volumes of our preparedness to deal with the pandemic.

Jammu, May 7: To take first hand appraisal of the infrastructure and patient care management in COVID care Hospitals, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today visited Government Hospital Gandhi Nagar, Chest Disease & TB Hospital Jammu and Government Medical College Jammu.
During his visits, he enquired about number of patients being treated in the hospitals, patients discharged after recovery and availability of oxygen support beds.
While inspecting the functionality of Oxygen Generation Plants in the Hospitals, Sinha directed for effective rationalization of available resources to cater to the requirements of the patients.

SRINAGAR, May 5: In order to further strengthen COVID-19 facilities, Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha today directed the senior doctors, Health officials and CMOs to increase additional 1050 oxygen beds in Kashmir division to ensure immediate treatment for the people requiring hospitalization.
He directed that increased bed capacity with oxygen should be ready within a week. It will substantially improve the health infrastructure and help out patients in the hour of crisis, he added.
Sinha was chairing a series of meetings with senior doctors and Chief Medical Officers of Kashmir Division here at Civil Secretariat, in which he reviewed the COVID-19 situation and containment measures put in place to effectively control the spread of Coronavirus.
