LOWVILLE â Each week in May â Mental Health Awareness Month â Lewis County Public Health has planned events.
This week, through May 14, community remembers are encouraged to join the challenge and share their favorite form of self-care by uploading a picture to the Lewis County Mental Health Awareness Month event page on Facebook.
Self-care for mental health includes such activities as talking with a friend, pampering yourself with a manicure or pedicure, spending time outdoors, listening to music, playing with a pet, watching funny videos, reading or making a healthy meal. Those submitting a photo will be entered into a prize drawing.

April 29, 2011: The 2010-11 flu season was mild, thanks to the vaccine being a good match for the virus, according to public health officials. Jefferson County Public Health Service reported 180 confirmed cases in Jefferson County as of Thursday, while Lewis County Public Health reported 130 confirmed cases. St. Lawrence County Public Health officials could not be reached for comment. According to officials, the mild year was also due in part to more people being vaccinated at various locations, such as physician offices and pharmacies.

WATERTOWN, N.Y. (WWNY) - Governor Andrew M. Cuomo announced Saturday more than 10 million total COVID vaccine doses have been administered across New York.
249,541 doses have been administered across the state run clinics in the last 24 hours, and more than 1.4 million doses have been administered over the past seven days.
“Our mission to get every New Yorker vaccinated for the COVID virus and to do it equitably has been without precedent - there was no blueprint and no one had even heard of a mass vaccination site until very recently,” Governor Cuomo said.
