He has previously served with the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation and Boys & Girls Clubs of the Lewis Clark Valley, and is currently a member of the Lewiston Groundwater Advisory Committee, Fish and Game Advisory Committee, and the Lewis Clark State College Auto Mechanic Committee.
He sponsors the Boys & Girls Clubs Auction, Jackson Baldwin Foundation Auction, and bids on livestock at local auctions, and gives the livestock back to the kids who raised them in 4-H.
Zmak has also taken the time to come to the Boys & Girls Club to teach staff how to put chains on busses during inclement weather. Every year, he also volunteers his time to teach a business class to the students at Lewis Clark State College.

The DeAtley Family Foundation, in conjunction with the Brien and Shelly DeAtley Foundation, has announced a gift of one million dollars in support of the capital expansion currently being taken on by the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Lewis Clark Valley as they develop part of the old Lewiston High School campus.
$750,000 has been dedicated by the DeAtley Family Foundation in support of the total capital improvments needed, and an additional $250,000 is being provided by the Brien and Shelly DeAtley Foundation towards development of the old science building into a non profit hub.
The old LHS campus will become the “DeAtley Family Foundation Community Campus.” An event to celebrate this gift is being planned for later this spring.
