Yildirim is the WBC mandatory challenger; his last fight was in 2019, when he lost a challenge for the then vacant WBC super middleweight title in a technical split decision. WBC Flyweight champion Julio Cesar Martinez, an explosive fighter with 17 wins and 13 knockouts, will defend his title against McWilliams Arroyo on the main card of Canelo vs. Yildirim as well.
The fight card will begin at 8 p.m. ET, and the main event is set for around 11 p.m. ET. Fans will be allowed to attend the event at Hard Rock Stadium; the Miami Dolphins limited attendance to 13,000 during the NFL season due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, but Florida does not have capacity restrictions in place.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) U.S. Attorney Tim Garrison, of the Western District of Missouri, says he will resign, effective Feb. 28.
Garrison’s resignation was expected after the U.S. Justice Department and President Joe Biden asked all U.S. attorneys to resign by the end of February so the new administration could begin replacing the political appointees.
Garrison has led the federal office based in Kansas City since he was named interim U.S. attorney in January 2018 and officially confirmed in April of that year.
Before that, he was assistant U.S. Attorney in the district’s Springfield office.
