Star Journal Area healthcare providers partner for vaccine clinic

Ascension Wisconsin, Marshfield Clinic Medical Center, and Oneida County Health Department are collaborating to offer a community walk-in clinic on Saturday, April 24, at Lakeland Union High School in Minocqua for anyone
18 and older. The clinic will take place 10 a.m.-2 p.m., and there is no appointment needed.
The vaccine offered at this community clinic will be Johnson and Johnson (Janssen) vaccine. The Johnson and Johnson/Janssen vaccine is a single dose vaccine that is highly effective.

MINOCQUA, WI (WSAU) Another walk-in COVID-19 vaccine clinic is coming to Central Wisconsin.
Oneida County Health Officials have announced that they will be offering 200 doses of the single-shot Johnson and Johnson vaccine at Lakeland Union High School in Minocqua on April 24th from 10 AM until 2 PM, or until the vaccine supply is exhausted.
No appointment or pre-registration will be required to get the shots. Those who want to take advantage should just report to Lakeland Union High off Highway 70 at 10 AM. Parking lot attendants will be on hand to begin the registration process.
Face coverings will be required for everyone in attendance. Officials also encourage those getting the vaccine to plan for between 15-30 minutes of observation time following their shot to make sure there are no adverse side effects.

The Lakeland Union High School Parade Band will be part of a composite band invited to march down the streets of Pasadena during the 2023 Tournament of Roses Parade.
At its last meeting, the Lakeland board of education approved the request of band leader Bill Richter for LUHS to be part of that event as they march down a five-mile stretch of Colorado Boulevard.
The mass band will comprise 10 area high schools, including Rhinelander, Eagle River, Three Lakes and Wausau. Upward of 200 members will wear the uniforms of their schools, but it’s expected all members will don matching headwear.
