Kingston, Frontenac and Lennox and Addington Public Health is reporting 13 new cases of COVID-19 in the region on Saturday.
Since Friday, cases have been recorded in Kingston, Greater Napanee, and South Frontenac and Loyalist townships.

Saturday’s cases include eight cases contracted via close contact: a female and a male in the 10 to 19 age group; two women in their 20s, one of which is a health-care worker; a man in his 30s; two women in their 40s; and a man in his 60s, who is a health-care worker.

Both local school boards have re-elected their chair of the board for the 2021 term.
At the Dec. 9 Limestone District School Board meeting, trustees re-elected trustee Suzanne Ruttan as chair for the 2021 term and elected first-time trustee Tom Gingrich as vice-chair.

Both Ruttan and trustee Garrett Elliott were nominated for the role of chair of the board. Trustees Gingrich and Robin Hutcheon were nominated for the vice-chair position. The votes for the positions were by secret ballot, and the trustees elect a chair and vice-chair each year of their four-year mandate.
