Wyoming is hitting another wall of winter this week, with snow and wind expected everywhere, with the Bighorn Basin expected to feel some of the chill.
Tim Troutman with the National Weather Service Riverton Office has released a video laying out the scope of the week’s winter storm potential. Wyoming is due for another snowy, slushy week in town and on the highways.
There is a Winter Weather Watch in effect for the Eastern Range, Wind River Mountains, and areas in and around Lander until Thursday evening. As much as eight to fourteen inches of snow could fall, starting early Wednesday morning.
Two Strong Quakes Have Been Detected on Mars
SCOTT ALAN JOHNSTON, UNIVERSE TODAY

NASA s InSight lander felt the distant rumble of two major marsquakes in March, originating from a region near the Martian equator known as the Cerberus Fossae.
Registering magnitudes of 3.1 and 3.3 on March 7 and March 18 respectively, the quakes cement the Cerberus Fossae s reputation as one of the most geologically active places on the Red Planet today.
A pair of similarly strong marsquakes rocked the same region back in 2019.
The Cerberus Fossae region is scarred by a series of massive, nearly-parallel fissures, created when the planet s crust was pulled open by a dramatic volcanic event. Volcanism is the primary driver of quakes on Mars: the Red Planet lacks the tectonic plates that cause most of the quakes we feel here on Earth.

The snow is piled outside the small yellow shop. The signage outside says Diamonds, Jade, and Indian Jewelry because the building used to be a jewelry shop. Now, it holds a different sort of precious commodity: musical instruments.
Sean Francis is teaching a lesson inside. He and his student are nestled between where Francis rehearses with his band and various instrument repair projects. The student drove half an hour through the snow to get here because Fremont Music is the only music shop for hours in any direction.
Francis grew up in Lander and is a member of the Eastern Shoshone tribe. The Wind River Indian Reservation is right next door, and Francis serves music aficionados of all ages.
Our lakes behave differently in Wyoming. Dare I say better? If you visit one of them at the right time, you can almost hear the ice sing to you like one visitor to Frye Lake near Lander experienced recently.
