Three homes have been evacuated as crews continue to work on a 36-inch water main rupture in Allentown.
The rupture began early Sunday at Mack Boulevard and Devonshire Road with the initial call coming in around 4:30 a.m., said Susan Sampson, a spokeswoman for the Lehigh County Authority. The rupture affected water pressure on the city’s South Side and has since led to the evacuation of three homes.
Sampson confirmed the city’s Code Enforcement deemed the properties “unsafe” and evacuated residents inside as a precaution. WFMZ-69 News is reporting the reason was due to “compromised foundations.”
