UPDATE: The Lehigh County Coroner’s Office on Monday night ruled the deaths of the three killed in Sunday night’s Upper Saucon Township crash were accidental. All three died from blunt force injuries in the one-vehicle crash, the coroner’s office said in a news release.
The release said one of the three deceased was the driver of the vehicle and identified him as Nicholas White, 23, of Chadds Ford, Pa. The release said the two occupants who died in the crash were: Sean Hanczaryk, 21 of Frenchtown, and Emily Kattner, 24, of Jim Thorpe.
It happened around 8:30 p.m. Saturday on the 4400 block of Lanark Road.
Police said the vehicle the victims were traveling in veered off the road and hit a tree. All three victims were pronounced dead at the scene.
Their names have not been released by police, but DeSales University confirmed that two alumni and a current student died in the crash.
Three people were killed in a crash in the Lehigh Valley. On behalf of the entire DeSales University community, I share our deepest condolences and prayers for the family and friends of the lives we lost, said University President Father James Greenfield, O.S.F.S.
