Weather forecasters continue to keep their eye on the potential for “significant snowfall” on Wednesday across the Lehigh Valley region.
First up, though, is the potential for 1 to 3 inches of snow Monday, according to the National Weather Service forecast for Lehigh Valley International Airport.
Monday’s forecast calls for a chance of rain and snow before 11 a.m., then a chance of rain until 4 p.m. followed by another shot at rain and snow and more snow possible until 7 p.m. The chance of precipitation is 50%, diminishing to 30% by Monday night. HANOVER TWP., Pa. - A pedestrian hit by a vehicle in Hanover Township, Lehigh County has died, according to the county coroner s office.
The Allentown woman was crossing Race Street near Cascade Drive when she was hit shortly after 6 a.m. Thursday, said Trooper Nathan Branosky, with the Pennsylvania State Police.
Rachael Patterson, 50, was taken to the hospital, where she died shortly before 7 a.m., according to the Lehigh County coroner s office. The cause of death was multiple traumatic injuries due to the crash. The coroner s office ruled the manner of death an accident. As a group of individuals had got off a bus at a bus stop and attempted to cross the street, one of the pedestrians was struck by a motor vehicle, Branosky said.
