Man charged in biting, severing woman’s lip in Freemansburg dispute

A Freemansburg man is facing assault charges after allegedly attacking a woman and biting off a portion of her lip during a domestic dispute.
Edward Clark, 27, of the 600 block of Ramblewood Lane, is charged with aggravated assault, simple assault and reckless endangerment in Saturday’s crime.
Borough police were called to Clark’s home at 11:38 p.m. following a 911 hangup call. Investigators knocking on the door could hear the female victim inside calling for help, police said. The woman was trying to open the door to officers but Clark kept blocking her attempts, according to police.
Driver ejected in 2-vehicle crash on Route 309

A driver was injured after being ejected in a two-vehicle crash during the winter storm Sunday night in Lehigh County, Pennsylvania State Police said.
Troopers were called a little before 5:30 p.m. Sunday for the crash in the 8400 block of Route 309, north of the intersection with Mountain Road/Mosserville Road in Lynn Township, said Trooper Nathan Branosky.
A driver traveling north on Route 309 lost control and struck a vehicle traveling south, and then both vehicles traveled off of the road and struck trees along the highway, Branosky said.
The driver of the northbound vehicle was ejected and emergency radio reports indicated he may have suffered a broken leg.
Cops seek witnesses in fatal Slate Belt pedestrian hit-and-run crash

Pennsylvania State Police are seeking witnesses in a fatal hit-and-run crash this past Friday in the Slate Belt.
The crash happened at 10:44 p.m. in the 2300 block of North Delaware Drive (Route 611) in Upper Mount Bethel Township.
Eileen Frances Muzlet, 57, of Easton suffered severe injuries following the crash and was taken by helicopter to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest in Salisbury Township, according to state police in Bethlehem.
Muzlet was pronounced dead at 5:10 p.m. Saturday at the hospital, according to the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office. An autopsy is scheduled Monday to determine the exact cause and manner of death.

Man who caught couple burglarizing his house charged in deadly shooting, cops say

A Monroe County man who opened fire on a couple burglarizing his house is now facing a homicide charge in the incident that left a man dead and a woman wounded, police said.
Randy Halterman, of the 2000 block of Paradise Trail in Stroud Township, was charged Wednesday with homicide, attempted homicide and aggravated assault.
The 66-year-old Halterman was sent to Monroe County Prison without bail. An attorney has not yet entered an appearance for him in the case.
Stroud Area Regional police said they were called at about 5:27 p.m. Tuesday to Halterman’s home for a report of shots fired in the residence.
