Covid vaccination: 8100 to get jab on day one in Delhi ANI | Updated: Jan 16, 2021 16:19 IST New Delhi [India], January 16 (ANI): Delhi Health Minister Satyendra Jain on Saturday said the vaccination drive has started at 81 centres in the national capital and 100 people would get their first of the two doses at each centre. Most of the Delhi government hospitals are serving as vaccination sites. The second phase will see the vaccination of frontline workers. Then, the third phase will cater to the people over age 50, and below 50 with co-morbidities. Right now, we are in Rajiv Gandhi Super Speciality Hospital, Lok Nayak Jay Prakash Hospital also is one of the sites, Jain said.

The two have been admitted to government facilities. Following the emergence of a new strain of the coronavirus in the UK, the Centre has made RT-PCR tests mandatory for people arriving from the country. Flights connecting India and the UK have also been suspended from December 23 to December 31. In one of the cases, a 47-year old woman tested positive, but was asymptomatic, upon landing in Delhi on December 21, according to PTI. The woman was then taken to Safdarjung Hospital in the national Capital, where she was advised home isolation.
