The leadership of the Association of Lotto Marketing Companies has commended the Management of KGL Technology Limited for the timely intervention of releasing funds to the National Lottery Authority(NLA) for the payment of outstanding wins since April 2020.
This, in the view of the Association, is a sign of good leadership to calm nerves down in the lottery industry.
The statement forms part of a congratulatory message the Association sent to the President of the Republic of Ghana, H. E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
The statement issued by the National Chairman of the Association, Mr Daniel Mensah, said Sir we have observed that for some time now the NLA has been finding it very difficult to honour payment of prizes to its cherished winners, causing a lot of inconvenience to them. The management of the National Lottery Authority would heave a huge sigh of relief after KGL Technology Limited, the accredited online marketing arm of the authority agreed to release funds to settle all outstanding debts.
The NLA, as reported in the last few weeks has been saddled with debts with lotto operators protesting the non-payment of winning tickets.
Barely a week ago, the staff of the NLA downed their tools and demonstrated against management for their failure to pay wins that transcend a year.
But in a release issued on Monday, March 8, 2021, KGL Technology Limited announced that it has decided step in to pay the debts that have crippled the authority.

The Management of KGL Technology Limited, a licensed online lotto marketing company responsible for the operation of 959#, the official short code of NLA has arrived at a consensus with the leadership of Financial Business and Services Employees Union (FBSEU) of G. F. L., and the National Lottery Authority (NLA) through its Finance Directorate to release funds for the Authority so that NLA would be able to pay outstanding wins which have recently become a worrying situation for the staff, lotto marketing companies and the industry as a whole.
