The video conference included more than 50 administrative officers from IAD’s 14 hospitals and 21 clinics and prominent partners from Loma Linda University Health and AdventHealth systems.
“During the past 10, 15, 20 years, you have been doing something extraordinary throughout all health-care institutions in Inter-America,” Franck Geneus, president of Adventist Healthcare Services Inter-America (AHSIA), said. “It’s been wonderful to see how many of these institutions are better shaped now than 10 years ago, when Adventist Healthcare Services Inter-America was established

Going into the office of the chief of pediatric urology at Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital in Loma Linda, California, United States, one sees a picture of Jesus standing behind a surgeon in the operating room, guiding his hands. David Chamberlin said this picture, given to him when he first began working at Children’s Hospital, is representative of his journey in medicine.
Chamberlin grew up in southern California, married his high-school sweetheart, graduated with a master’s in biochemistry from Brigham Young University (BYU) and his medical degree from the University of California Irvine (UCI) School of Medicine, and completed residency at UCI Medical Center. During his first year of practice, Chamberlin was invited to be part of a medical mission trip to Damascus, Syria. Unbeknownst to him, his role during the trip would be to conduct several complicated pediatric urologic surgeries.

Loma Linda is collaborating with El Sol to staff and provide doses for clinics. The people who show up are ready for their vaccine, though some are a bit hesitant, he said. They re not like our middle-class folks who are literally crying for the vaccine, Belliard said. These folks are still nervous about it, but you ve removed almost all of these other barriers for them.
