2 seriously injured in Montogomery County four-wheeler crash

(WISH) – Two people were seriously injured in a Wednesday evening four-wheeler crash in Montgomery County, according to the Indiana Department of Natural Resources. Around 5:15 p.m., first responders were called to the area of State Road 234 and County Road 925, near Ladoga, for a crash. An early investigation from the department states 35-year-old Zachary Bauman, with a juvenile passenger, driving north on County Road 925 East when he did not stop at the T-intersection at State Road 234. The four-wheeler then proceeded to collide with a guardrail. Both Bauman and the juvenile were taken to Sidney & Lois Eskenazi Hospital in Indianapolis for treatment.

Man charged with murder after woman dropped off, run over outside Riley hospital

Apr 26, 2021 / 05:20 PM EST INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) A 39-year-old Indianapolis man was charged Monday with the murder of a woman who was dropped off with gunshot wounds Wednesday night at Riley Hospital for Children, where she later died. Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department said it was notified minutes before 6:55 p.m. Wednesday of a “walk-in person shot” at the hospital at 705 Riley Hospital Drive. Joan “Jody” Berry, 41, was initially listed as being in critical condition but died minutes after arriving at the hospital. Gary L. Jackson, 39, was formally charged with murder in Marion Superior Court 28. A jury trial was set for June 28. Court documents said surveillance video from Riley hospital showed a blue Nissan Rogue sport-utility vehicle about 6:45 p.m. Wednesday pull into the emergency room entrance. Thirteen People Without Homes After Fire at Indy Apartment Building

INDIANAPOLIS  Thirteen people are without homes after a fire at an Indianapolis apartment complex. Shortly after 1 a.m. Monday, firefighters were called to a fire at the Blue Triangle Apartments at 725 N. Pennsylvania Street. Firefighters found smoke and a small fire on the fourth floor. IFD said the fire started after a mattress caught on fire. It took firefighters several minutes to get the fire under control. Twenty-five people were evacuated from the building; 13 of them were displaced. A 61-year-old man was taken to Sidney & Lois Eskenazi Hospital for possible smoke inhalation. Overnight apartment fire leaves 13 displaced

Apr 26, 2021 / 04:38 AM EST INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Thirteen people are now without a place to live following an overnight apartment fire, according to the Indianapolis Fire Department. Just after 1 a.m., crews were called to an apartment building in the 700 North Pennsylvania Street for a fire with possible entrapment. Once crews got on the scene, light smoke was spotted coming from the six-story structure. Soon after, crews determined that the fire was coming from a fourth floor apartment – a mattress had caught fire. The fire was brought under control by firefighters just before 1:30 a.m. In all, firefighters evacuated 25 occupants from the building, 13 of whom lived on the third and fourth floors, who are now displaced.

Apr 7, 2021 / 10:49 PM EST INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) Friday marks one year since Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department Officer Breann Leath was killed in the line of duty. Leath was shot while responding to a domestic disturbance call at an east-side apartment complex. Jennifer Leath, Breann’s mom, said Wednesday that life is something her family never took for granted, and, because of their strong police background, they had an important rule. “I love you is the last thing we say to each other,” Jennifer Leath said. She can only remember parts of April 9, 2020, the day her daughter was killed. She recalls feeling off before she had even known what happened.
