Baldwin Home Museum open for daytime visits By Staff | Feb 26, 2021 LAHAINA Lahaina Restoration Foundation announced the return of daytime visits of the Baldwin Home Museum beginning Thursday, Feb. 25. New days and hours will be Thursday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The popular Candle Lit Tour of the famous missionary home will continue on Friday evenings from 5 to 8 p.m. in conjunction with the weekly Friday Night is Art Night. All daytime visits and the Candle Lit Tour are $5 per person with children 12 and under free. Each visit is limited to five people at any one time. Reservations are recommended and can be made online at www.lahainarestoration.org/events.

Foundation to conduct building assessment of the Baldwin Home By Staff | Feb 12, 2021 The assessment will result in a prioritized, cost-estimated list of preservation needs for the historic Baldwin Home. LAHAINA Lahaina Restoration Foundation was recently awarded a $2,500 grant by the National Trust for Historic Preservation. These grant funds will be used to complete a building assessment of the stone and coral block Baldwin Home built in 1835 in Lahaina. The assessment will result in a prioritized, cost-estimated list of preservation needs for the building. “Organizations like Lahaina Restoration Foundation help to ensure that communities all across America retain their unique sense of place,” said Paul Edmondson, president of the National Trust for Historic Preservation. “We are honored to provide a grant to Lahaina Restoration Foundation, which will use the funds to help preserve an important piece of our shared national heritage.”

LAHAINA The Chinese New Year (CNY) celebration has been a longstanding tradition at the Wo Hing Museum on Front Street and with the Chinese community of Lahaina. This year it falls on Friday, Feb. 12, and culminates on Feb. 26.
