A late night shooting in Kinston saw one person shot and law enforcement asking for the public s help to identify those involved.
At approximately 10:30 p.m. Monday night, deputies with the Lenoir County Sheriff s Office received a 9-1-1 call about a shooting incident on Fred Everett Road.
When first responders arrived they found one victim was shot during the incident. The victim was transported by Lenoir County Emergency Services from the scene but the name of the person is not being released at this time, according to a release from the LCSO.
The victim s injuries are also unknown.

Deputies with the Lenoir County Sheriff s Office have arrested a Kinston man after they were able to make multiple purchases of crystal methamphetamine.
Tony Ray Tucker was charged with three counts of possession with intent to sell and deliver a schedule II controlled substance, one count of possession of a schedule II controlled substance and one count of trafficking methamphetamine, according to a news release from the LCSO.
All of the charges are considered felonies. Tucker s next scheduled court date for the current arrest is on Jan. 7, 2021 in Lenoir County District Court.
Detectives were able to made multiple purchases of crystal methamphetamine from Tucker during their investigation, ultimately seizing approximately 60 grams of the drug. He was given a $70,500 secured bond and taken to the W.E. Billy Smith Detention Facility.
The Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office reported a resident was shot late Wednesday afternoon in Deep Run.
According to LCSO Maj. Ryan Dawson, there was a shots fired/person shot call to 911 at 4:45 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 30, in the 4300 block of N.C. 11 South in Deep Run. The victim sustained multiple injuries from the shooting, but the victim’s condition is not known at this time.
The LCSO is not releasing the victim’s name or the name of any suspect(s) due to the ongoing investigation.
Maj. Dawson said residents in the area are safe.
“There is no danger to the public at this time,” Dawson said. “The investigation is ongoing.”

Cristian Cruz, 35, of Kinston, North Carolina, was wanted for 103 counts of statutory rape of a child by an adult, 103 counts of incest and 103 counts of indecent liberties with a child that were issued by the Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office in North Carolina.
An affidavit states that Cruz engaged with an 11-year-old girl about three years ago.
