His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam has consented to the establishment of the Palestine Humanitarian Fund 2021 from May 26 to August 23, following an agreement between the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS), together with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA), the Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA) and the Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA).
The establishment of the humanitarian fund will allow the public to make monetary contributions in a direct and transparent manner, while also enabling various parties to organise charity and welfare activities for the victims in Palestine.

Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam (BIBD) yesterday awarded BND14,900 to 37 students as part of the Excellent Students Incentive Award Scheme 2020.
Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Finance and Economy II cum Chairman of BIBD and its Group of Companies Dato Seri Setia Dr Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah handed over the contributions.
The recipients comprised orphans registered under the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS), who secured excellent results in the general examinations last year.
Two GCE ‘A’ Level students received BIBD Savings accounts worth BND800 each, while 11 GCE ‘O’ Level students received BIBD Savings accounts worth BND500 each. Monetary incentives were also awarded to three students who excelled in the Brunei Religious Education Certificate and 21 students who excelled in the Primary School Assessment.
