Date Time Police charge four after three firearms, $30,000 cash and cocaine seized – Strike Force Northrop Redfern Region Enforcement Squad (RES) investigators have charged four people and seized firearms, ammunition, cash and cocaine, following an operation in Sydney’s south west yesterday. In September 2017, detectives from Redfern RES established Strike Force Northrop to investigate and target the ongoing supply of cocaine within the Central Metropolitan Region. Targeted police operations were conducted last year on nine nights over four weeks in November and December, which saw 137 people charged. Their matters remain before the courts. Following on from these inquiries, police stopped a vehicle on Cambridge Avenue, Bankstown, about 6pm yesterday (Friday 12 March 2021).

Date Time P-plater charged after travelling at more than 200km/h – Riverwood A P-plate driver has been charged after he was detected allegedly travelling at more than 200km/h in Sydney’s south-west overnight. Just after midnight (Saturday 27 February 2021), officers attached to the Traffic and Highway Patrol Command were conducting speed enforcement duties on the M5 Motorway at Milperra, when a black Holden Commodore was detected travelling at 207km/h in a 100km/h zone. Shortly after, the Commodore exited the M5 on Belmore Road, Riverwood, before mounting a median strip, hitting the rear of a Toyota Camry and continuing through a fence and into a park.

Elderly woman dies at the scene in Chester Hill, Sydney, after being hit by a garbage truck

09:03 EDT, 23 February 2021 Confronting footage has captured the tragic moment a garbage truck struck and killed an elderly woman crossing a suburban road in the morning. The unsuspecting lady was struck in Chester Hill in Sydney s southwest on Tuesday at 8.30am after the driver allegedly made an illegal right-hand turn. CCTV footage showed the truck doing a three-point turn moments before the accident. The garbage driver, 32, tried to assist the woman and paramedics were quick to respond but the woman died at the scene, reported 7NEWS.  An unsuspecting woman (pictured) has died after being hit by a truck in Sydney s south west
