The news was revealed by
The Athletic and
Stadium’s Shams Charania, “The NBA will again honor the late Kobe Bryant at March 7 All-Star Game with incorporating 24 points into the calculation of the final target score.”
Last year’s All-Star Game saw a major change in the 4th quarter: the game clock was turned off during the last quarter and either team could win if they reached the “Final Target Score.” The league previously explained, “For example: If the cumulative score of the first three quarters is 100-95, the Final Target Score would be set at 124 points. To win the NBA All-Star Game, the team with 100 points would need to score 24 points in the fourth quarter before the team with 95 points scores 29 points, and vice versa.”
