HUNTINGTON â Hundreds of local students will soon take the last walk of their high school careers, dressed for success in their caps and gowns.
Cabell County Schools will hold commencement ceremonies next week for Cabell Midland and Huntington High School seniors, both of which will take place at Joan C. Edwards Stadium on the campus of Marshall University.
Tuesday, May 18, was the last instructional day for seniors in the district. Graduation ceremonies are less than a week away as the students complete what they have worked toward for over a decade.
Cabell Midlandâs graduation is scheduled for 6 p.m. Thursday, May 27, with the stadium opening to the public two hours prior to start at 4 p.m. Approximately 425 students will be given diplomas during the ceremony.

LAS VEGAS – Beginning Tuesday, June 1, adults and children 12 and older can receive their COVID-19 vaccination at 16 high schools and middle schools across the Las Vegas Valley in an effort to ensure vaccine sites are convenient and accessible throughout the community. The Southern Nevada Health District will provide first doses of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine at four schools simultaneously for two days at each location. Second doses will be available at those same schools 21 days later. The late-afternoon clinics are designed to make it easier for people to take their shot on the way home from work. Registration for appointments is now available at www.snhd.info/covid-vaccine. Walk-ins will be accepted pending clinic capacity.

Theresa Ann is now 8 and on to a new adventure.
Friday, at Spring Valley High School, she will run one mile for every military and police K-9 lost in the line of duty.
She will carry a flag in their honor.
Then that flag will be given to the handler or their family.
It will be in honor of K-9 Nicky, the K-9 that got her started with lemonades.
