Updated 8:17 PM Early Saturday morning, a driver hit and killed a woman riding a Lime electric scooter on Northeast Sandy Boulevard at 149th Avenue. The crash occurred just past 12:30 am, and the woman riding the motorized scooter was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Portland Police Bureau. The bureau says the driver who hit the scooter rider fled the scene and is still at large. It appears to be the first time a person has died on a rental e-scooter since tech startups were allowed to deploy fleets of scooters on Portland streets in 2018. Police spokesman Sgt.
