Feb 3: Nebraska reports 605 more COVID-19 cases, 305 hospitalizations

(KTIV) - Nebraska health experts reported 605 new cases of COVID-19 in the state on Wednesday, bringing the total number of cases in the state to 192,042. Health department data indicates there are 305 in Nebraska, which is the same number reported on Tuesday. A total of 5,844 Nebraska residents have been hospitalized due to COVID-19. Out of those who have tested positive, 137,684 Nebraskans have recovered, an increase of 712 since the state s last report. So far, 929,032 Nebraskans have been tested for the virus, and 736,508 have come back negative. As of Wednesday, 198,194 doses of the Moderna and Pfizer COVID-19 vaccines have been administered, with 55,016 people completing their vaccine series.

BY Pender Community Hospital | January 26, 2021 MGN Pender, NE (January 25, 2021) – Pender Community Hospital & Medical Clinics, as an extension of Northeast Nebraska Public Health, are set to begin COVID-19 vaccine distribution to phase 1B this week. The Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services distributes the COVID-19 vaccines to all Nebraska counties. Each health department determines the protocol to vaccinate eligible recipients. The first eligible group outlined was Phase 1A: healthcare workers and long-term care facility residents. As Phase 1A wraps up, health departments and healthcare officials will now distribute the vaccine to Phase 1B: people 65 and older, age 18 and above with high-risk medical conditions, and specified groups of essential workers.
