A Huntington operation that specializes in products for water, hygiene and infection prevention is expanding operations, officials announced Tuesday. Ecolab Inc. plans to create up to 24 new jobs by the end of 2022.
The St. Paul, Minnesota-based company will invest more than $9 million to expand its operations in Huntington, installing new equipment at its 150,000-square-foot manufacturing facility at 970 E. Tipton St. and increasing warehouse space at its 132,000-square-foot distribution center at 68 Commercial Road. The upgrades are expected to be completed in 2021.
Ecolab, which employs more than 100 in Huntington, is making the investment to meet increased demand for its hand soaps and sanitizers during the COVID-19 pandemic and in the future as its customers maintain safe, clean and healthy operations for consumers, officials said.

Today, the North American Car, Truck and Utility of the Year jury announced the three winners of this prestigious honor. Ford was a finalist in two of the three categories with the Mustang Mach-E up against the Genesis GV80 and the Land Rover Defender. Meanwhile the stalwart Ford F-150 was up against the Ram TRX and the Jeep Gladiator Mojave.
Ford took home two honors with the Mach-E winning the utility of the year while the F-150 took home truck of the year honors for the fourth time.

The 2021 Mustang Mach-E captured the 2021 North American Utility of the Year award. The win is seen as a jumping off point to sell a bunch of EVs.
The Ford Mustang Mach-E, the automaker’s first long-range battery-electric vehicle, was named North American Utility Vehicle of the Year on Monday, with the Ford F-150 chosen as Truck of the Year and the Hyundai Elantra rounding things out as the Car of the Year.
The virtual awards ceremony Monday morning capped off a year-long search for winners by a jury of 50 U.S. and Canadian automotive journalist that was made “very challenging … in many ways” due to the COVID-19 pandemic, said NACTOY President Gary Witzenburg.
