The month of March is known for its extremely volatile weather, as warm spring conditions battle to replace the cold of winter. When and where the collision between the two meet, severe weather and tornadoes are bound to emerge.
This common March collision is on track to take place from Tuesday through Thursday in the southern U.S., with a particularly dangerous severe weather outbreak likely Wednesday and Wednesday night from Arkansas east to Alabama. There s a threat of numerous tornadoes, with a few large and powerful tornadoes possible.
Wednesday morning, NOAA s Storm Prediction Center issued a high risk warning 5 out of 5 on the warning scale saying, Long-track, intense tornadoes are expected along with damaging winds and large hail are expected to begin this afternoon across parts of Louisiana and Arkansas, moving eastward by evening into Mississippi and Alabama.

The most pressing issue right now is the ongoing pandemic and navigating to get our children back to school safely. Hopefully things will continue to get better. Our Board of Education, along with administration, have had to make some grueling decisions for the safety of our children and staff over the last year. The work is a product of two people, Northern Illinois University history professor Sean Farrell, and his former doctoral student Mathieu Billings, who now works at the University of Indianapolis. Farrell said a key motivation behind the book, and its title, was to broaden the scope by which people see “The Irish in Illinois.”
“The time seemed right to put it together in terms of the first statewide history of the Irish in Illinois, he said. There’s been a lot of great stuff on the Irish in Chicago and a lot of good things on the Irish in various communities, but there hasn’t been anything that kind of brought that all together.”
