Aurora library sets community dialogues on race   Posted5/25/2021 10:23 PM Four community dialogues on racism will be co-hosted by Study Circles Illinois, Santori Aurora Public Library in Aurora; and Gail Borden Public Library in Elgin. The series opens with public conversations from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Mondays, June 7 and 21, at Santori Public Library, 101 S. River St. Sessions at Gail Borden will be announced.   The Summer Community Dialogues on Racism will begin with Let s Talk About Racism on June 7 and Let s Talk About Policing on June 21. The series moderator is Vincent Gaddis, professor of history at Benedictine University. He writes and researches on issues of race, class and social justice and is a frequent workshop presenter and facilitator on such issues.

Aurora church recognizes graduating students

Aurora church recognizes graduating students     Graduating students were recognized by Flowing Forth United Methodist Church Sunday, May 16. In worship services at Aurora Christian School, the Rev. Derek Rogers recognized Kate Dosch and Shannon King.   Dosch is among West Aurora High School seniors scheduled to graduate Sunday, May 23, in 11 a.m. commencement exercises at Northern Illinois University football stadium. She plans to study forensic chemistry at Western Illinois University. King was among University of Minnesota Duluth graduates recognized in a May 8 virtual ceremony. She received bachelor s degrees in biochemistry and cognitive science magna cum laude. Pastor Rogers said graduates will receive gifts from the church.
