Organizers say Preseason Thomas ticket sales are running about 300% ahead of 2020 and 2019.

DULUTH, Minn.- The second year of the pandemic is not keeping Thomas the Tank Engine down; he’s making a trip back up to Duluth this summer.
Thomas and his green friend Percy will be back at the North Shore Scenic Railroad the first two weekends of August.
This year the event is almost entirely outside this year with social distancing and 50 percent max capacity. According to organizers, that means tickets are flying down the tracks.
“Preseason Thomas sales for the tickets for families that want to come and see Thomas are running about 300% ahead of 2020 and 2019, said Ken Buehler, General Manager of the North Shore Scenic Railroad.
If you have a kid (or kid at heart) in the family that loves Thomas the Tank Engine, you won t want to miss out on this summer event in Duluth.
Thomas the Tank Engine and his friends are all coming to life August 6, 7, 8 and 13, 14, 15 in Duluth for Day Out With Thomas at North Shore Scenic Railroad.
This is an opportunity for kids to take a ride with their favorite tank engine, meet the railway controller Sir Topham Hatt, have fun in Imagination Station, explore the Railroad Museum, take a ride with Thomas’ friend Percy, and much more!
The theme for this year is Party Train and this event also serves as the biggest fundraiser of the year for Lake Superior Railroad Museum in Duluth.

The vast and sprawling continent of North America is replete with wonderful places to visit. Every state has its attractions and there s so much variety from place to place. This is what makes choosing a vacation in the USA difficult. Choice is a fine thing, but too much of it can be stressful!
Think vacation destinations and the obvious come to mind: the fun and colour of Florida with its fabulous family attractions and stunning beaches; the amazing diversity of California where anything goes and some of the world s most fascinating cities are located; the amazing metropolis that is New York City, one of the most popular cities in the world, and the magnificent historical sites in the likes of Texas or Pennsylvania, Maine and many other wonderful locations.
There are so many things to do in a regular year in Duluth, it landed the city on the Woman s Day list at number 23. The list they have is pre-pandemic, but let s still celebrate!
Some of the reasons we landed in the top 25 are the traditions we ve grown to love through the years.
The first item list the fun you can have by attending the Christmas City of the North parade, the Friday before Thanksgiving. Families line the street and wait to wave to someone they know, or their favorite business, TV personality, radio personality, dance group, or marching band. This year, it was mostly virtual with no people lining the streets. KBJR TV, the organizer behind the parade, covered the small number of people that made up the parade and the bands and dance groups were filmed, we made the best of it.
