Wanda Blanche Taylor and Adrian A Phillips Appointed to NC Industrial Commission

03/01/21 WorkersCompensation.com Raleigh, NC (WorkersCompensation.com) - Governor Roy Cooper has appointed Wanda Blanche Taylor and Adrian A. Phillips to serve as Commissioners on the North Carolina Industrial Commission for six-year terms, subject to confirmation by the North Carolina General Assembly. Taylor is a native of Plymouth, North Carolina. She is a Fellow of the College of Workers Compensation Lawyers and received her Juris Doctor from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Law and her undergraduate degree at Duke University. Currently, Taylor is the Director of Litigation/Counsel at Key Risk Insurance (a Berkley Company), and she also serves as a member of the North Carolina Board of Certified Public Accountant Examiners. Previously, Taylor served as a Deputy Commissioner at the Industrial Commission for twenty years, including as Chief Deputy Commissioner. She has also represented both employees and employers/insurers in private practice.

He sculpts, blacksmiths, welds, makes prints and drawings, carves and even weaves. The Durham-based artist known for a focus on social justice and incorporating historical context said he tries “just about anything I get my hands on.” “I love trying to give things new meaning. I don’t have a preferred medium,” said Hayes, whose work will be on display at Elder Gallery of Contemporary Art in Charlotte from March 5-April 24 in an exhibit titled “Beyond Any Means.”
