NNEC Promotes Ryan Barrack to Information Technology Manager
Warsaw, Virginia – May 12, 2021 – Northern Neck Electric Cooperative (NNEC) promoted Ryan Barrack to Manager, Information Technology.
Barrack will be responsible for spearheading NNEC’s efforts to streamline information systems operations and the protection of the co-op’s cybersecurity.
In his position as IT Specialist, Barrack has been instrumental in maintaining and improving NNEC’s information systems, which are critical to the mission of the co-op. Throughout the last year, he was instrumental in moving NNEC’s workforce to more virtual platforms allowing work-from-home for an essential industry.
Barrack brings with him sixteen years of experience in information systems management, of which nearly four were with NNEC. He holds an associate degree in Computer Electronics Engineering Technology from ECPI Technical College.
NWS confirms EF2 tornado struck Northumberland County

NORTHUMBERLAND Co., Va. (WWBT) - The National Weather Service has officially confirmed a tornado was the source of storm damage reported in Northumberland County on Monday afternoon.
The National Weather Service said the EF2 tornado started in Callao and ended near Lewisetta, and was on the ground for five miles. The estimated maximum wind speeds are 115 to 120 mph.

There was no tornado warning for the storm but the NWS received a report of a funnel cloud sighted and damage to homes on Lewisetta Road and Chambers Lane.

NORTHUMBERLAND Co., Va. (WWBT) - Storm damage has been reported in Northumberland County as severe weather moved through the area on Monday afternoon.
The sheriff’s office and Northern Neck Electric Cooperative have reported damage in the area of Lewisetta Road in Lottsburg.
The National Weather Service received a report of a funnel cloud sighted and damage to homes on Lewisetta Road and Chambers Lane. The NWS has not officially confirmed if there was a tornado or not but will survey the damage Tuesday.
