FALLBROOK, CA The bodies of two men were found after a vehicle was found 100 feet down an embankment.
It was not known when the crash occurred, but the vehicle was found at 4:22 p.m. Sunday off of southbound Interstate 15 near Mission Road, according to the North County Fire Protection District.
A person at the scene told California Highway Patrol officers the Toyota sedan had been missing since Friday.

The bodies of two men were discovered after a vehicle was found 100 feet down an embankment in Fallbrook on Sunday afternoon, officials said.
The vehicle was found shortly after 4:20 p.m. off of southbound Interstate 15, north of Stewart Canyon Road, officials said.
A person at the scene told California Highway Patrol officers the 2018 Toyota Corolla had been missing since Friday. CHP Officer Juan Escobar said investigators believe the car crashed off the freeway “sometime in the early morning hours” of Saturday.
On Sunday, officers found the driver and his passenger dead in the vehicle. Both were 21 years old and lived in Riverside County, Escobar said.

CAMP PENDLETON
A brush fire at Camp Pendleton exploded into what officials initially said was 1,000 acres Wednesday, prompting mandatory evacuations, officials at the Marine Corps base said on their Facebook page.
The fire is east of the 33 Area, base officials said. Mandatory evacuations have been ordered for 25 Area, 26 Area, and 27 Area. The 25 Area includes Lake O’Neill Campground, and the Wounded Warrior Battalion.
The evacuation center is at Paige Fieldhouse.

Initially, base officials said the fire was at 1,000 acres. An hour later officials said they do not know the size of the fire.
The North County Fire Protection District, located east of the base in the Fallbrook area, tweeted that there is no threat to its district.
