Del Mar Fairgrounds officials provided additional details this week about Homegrown Fun, a scaled-down version of the annual county fair that the state-owned venue will hold to better comply with COVID-19 public health restrictions.
Katie Mueller, the chief business services officer at the fairgrounds, told the fairgrounds’ board of directors April 13 that the event “will be following all county and state public health guidelines.” It runs from June 11 to July 4.
“It is limited capacity so all admission tickets and parking passes will be sold online only, not on site,” Mueller said.
DEL MAR
All coastal rail service will be suspended Sunday and again March 20 and 21 for work on the recent Del Mar bluff collapse and for other previously planned projects.
Beach access will be limited between Del Mar and Torrey Pines State Beach and, depending on construction activity and tides, at times there may be no public access, according to North County Transit District.
The state Parks Department will have monitors in place during the work to assist visitors. Also, law enforcement officers will be present atop the bluffs to warn people about the risks of walking along the railroad tracks and the bluffs.

The Del Mar bluffs are a pretty sight, but county officials are warning to stay away from them after a retaining wall collapsed sending dirt and rocks barreling.
