Police appeal for witnesses after woman found seriously hurt after crash in north-east field
The 59-year-old was the driver of a Toyota Yaris which left the road near Auchtydonald earlier today.
The road is now closed between Mintlaw and Longside while the police carry out inquiries and the public has been advised to avoid the route.
Police became aware of the incident around 1:30pm and paramedics were called to the scene.
The North East Road Policing Unit’s Sergeant Andrew Meikleham said: “Officers are urging anyone who witnessed the white Toyota Yaris being driven in the area, or anyone driving on that road with dash-cam footage to contact us.

Darren Inglis, 29, from Mintlaw, died in hospital following the crash on the A90 - south of Newburgh - yesterday morning.
In a statement, his family said: Yesterday our hearts were destroyed when Darren was taken from us following a tragic accident. Darren was a much-loved son, fiancé́, grandson, brother, uncle, nephew and friend to many. Above all, he was a funny, amazing, larger-than-life character, whose jokes and good humour lightened all our lives and always made us roll with laughter.
Police have confirmed that he was Darren Inglis, 29, from Mintlaw. His family have now released a statement through Police Scotland, hailing his funny , larger-than-life character. They said: Yesterday our hearts were destroyed when Darren was taken from us following a tragic accident. Darren was a much loved son, fiancé́, grandson, brother, uncle, nephew and friend to many. Above all, he was a funny, amazing, larger-than-life character, whose jokes and good humour lightened all our lives and always made us roll with laughter. Tragically, Mr Inglis was due to marry his fiancée Sophie in just a few weeks. His life was his soulmate, Sophie, to whom he was due to be married in a few weeks, his nieces and nephew on whom he doted, and his adored dogs , the statement continued.
