Organisations across the Tyne Valley have paid tribute to The Duke of Edinburgh Prince Philip, who has died today at the age of 99. Northumberland County Council tweeted: On behalf of everyone at Northumberland County Council we are saddened by the news of His Royal Highness, Prince Phillip. “We send our sincere condolences and thoughts to the Royal Family at this sad time. While Northumbria Police tweeted: We re saddened to hear of the death of His Royal Highness Prince Philip. “Our thoughts are with Her Majesty the Queen, and the entire Royal Family, at this difficult time. The duke died peacefully at Windsor Castle this morning (April 9) after previously returning to his home following a stay in hospital.
