A roughly half-mile section of Interstate 30 in downtown Little Rock will be closed and require detours all next weekend to accommodate work on the nearly $1 billion 30 Crossing project.
The detours onto the frontage roads between East Sixth Street and Interstate 630 will begin at 10 p.m. Friday and last through 5 a.m. Monday to allow the contractor to remove the East Ninth Street overpass to replace it, the Arkansas Department of Transportation announced last week.

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. North Little Rock police are investigating a shooting that occurred at McCain Mall on Friday.
The shooting occurred around 6 p.m. as bullets traveled into the Earthbound and Works store on the first level of the mall, shattering the glass window of the store.
According to authorities, no injuries were reported as a result of the incident. Police said that the suspect fled the scene following the incident and that detectives are currently using the mall s surveillance footage to find an accurate suspect description.

The most recent homicide reported was an 18-year-old found shot early Monday morning. 5 days prior, a man was found dead with gun shots wounds in a North Little Rock home.
