Detectives with the Boulder Police Department arrested Ian C. Morrison, 36, of Boulder, on Tuesday on charges of sexual assault, sexual assault on a child, enticement of a child and false imprisonment. The victim s parents reported the crimes, which happened in 2020, to police. During an investigation, police said they found that Morrison was in possession of sexually explicit material of children.

Weld County Sheriff s Office Warns of Police Impersonation Scam

The Weld County Sheriff s Office is warning the public about a police impersonation scam that resurfaced last week. Back in November, a suspect was calling Weld County residents claiming to be Sgt. Pete Jones. The scammer told people that they had active warrants for their arrest, which would be cancelled if the scammer was paid in gift cards. Last week, a resident of Weld County reported receiving the same type of call from a man who said he was Sgt. Pete Jones with the Weld County Sheriff’s Office. The scammer told the man that he had two active warrants out for his arrest - one for failing to appear in court and another for failing to report for jury duty. In addition, the suspect told the man that his fine totaled $1,000 and could be settled with gift cards.

Weld Sheriff s Office Seeks Information about Rash of Fuel Thefts

The Weld County Sheriff s Office is currently investigating a string of fuel thefts from local ranches that have taken place during the past month. The first reported gasoline theft occurred on December 5 from a property near Weld County Road 47 and Weld 66. At 8:30 a.m., the victim was made aware of a fuel leak by his landlord. When the victim drove to check on the 500-gallon tank, he noticed that the pump handle had been broken, which caused 150 gallons of gasoline to spill into the surrounding area. The victim did have trail cameras monitoring the tanks, and the footage showed a man attempting to steal fuel during the early morning hours.
