Karla Gander, age 56, of Gays Mills, passed away peacefully Monday, January 11, 2021, at Soldiers Grove Health Services. She was born May 25, 1964, to the late Daverne and Patsy (Schrader) Gander. She graduated from North Crawford High School with the class of 1982.

DRIFTLESS – 2020 was quite a year – one most will likely never forget, no matter how much they may want to.
MAY:Scansin Brand, a Madison-based apparel design shop owned by Nicolas Boehm, recently launched its ‘Save ’ campaign to encourage individuals to support local bars, restaurants and workers during the COVID-19 crisis. Boehm is a 1994 North Crawford graduate, and son of Alice and Gerald Boehm of rural Gays Mills… Seneca Schools SAE spotlight for the week is Dawson, a junior taking several ag classes this semester. Dawson is completing his SAE in animal science. “Let me just say he is knocking it out of the park in all things Ag,” said Ag Education Teacher Kally Koch… At least 20 meat processing plants have closed temporarily across the country, including one in Wisconsin, following the spread of COVID… The North Crawford School Board met for the

DECEMBER 16, 2010 – Wisconsin State Senator Dan Kapanke (R-LaCrosse) was appointed Chairperson of the Committee on Agriculture, Forestry and Higher Education by incoming Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald for the 2011-2012 season… The Gays Mills flood recovery project will expend over $10 million in grants this year constructing four buildings, more housing and more infrastructure. Two of the biggest parts of the project will be the Gays Mills Community Commerce Center, budgeted at $2.7 million and the Gays Mills Mercantile Center, budgeted at $2.8 million.

DECEMBER 9, 2010 – Gays Mills real estate agent Craig Anderson is pictured removing snow from the sidewalk in front of his business, Wisconsin Country Realty… About a dozen parents and children who use the Soldiers Grove Community Building once per week for homeschooling activities attended the village board meeting last Thursday to express concern about a policy that would limit future access to the facility. The new policy would limit the use of the building to allow only government and government related meetings and events. The board tabled action on creating a policy for use of the community building to a future meeting.
