BJP fails to retain Shalimar Bagh seat, Cong. wins Chauhan Banger ward in riot-affected north-east Delhi
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Wednesday won four out of five wards in the municipal corporation bypolls. The Congress won the Chauhan Banger ward located in north-east Delhi, which witnessed communal violence last year. The seat was earlier held by the AAP.
The BJP was a runner-up in four wards and placed third in the minority-dominated Chauhan Banger.
New Delhi, Mar 3: The Aam Aadmi Party on Wednesday won four of the five wards in the bye-polls to Delhi Municipal Corporation. The Congress won the one remaining seat.

The results of local body elections in 27 districts of Gujarat - which includes 81 municipalities, 31 district panchayats and 231 talukya panchayats - will be announced today, with the ruling BJP eager to continue its winning streak and re-assert its dominance in Prime Minister Narendra Modi s home state, ahead of Assembly elections due early next year.
Polling began at 7:30 am amid tight security arrangements. According to the State Election Commission of Delhi, around 2.42 lakh people are eligible to cast their votes in two wards under the North Delhi Municipal Corporation (NDMC) and three wards under the East Delhi Municipal Corporation (EDMC).
