A 19-year-old has been identified as the person who was killed after a shooting in the Willard Hay neighborhood of north Minneapolis.
The Hennepin County Medical Examiner identified the person as Edwin Lydell Vaughn Jr.
The cause of death is a gunshot wound to the chest.
Police spokesman John Elder said, just after 9 p.m., police responded to a ShotSpotter activation on the 2600 block of Upton Avenue North.
When officers arrived, they were unable to find a victim. According to Elder, a few minutes later, the officers were told a man turned up at North Memorial Health Hospital with a gunshot wound. That victim, later identified as Vaughn, died at the hospital.

Authorities have identified the man fatally shot over an especially violent weekend in Minneapolis.
Edwin L. Vaughn Jr., 19, of Minneapolis, suffered a gunshot to the chest just after 9 p.m. Saturday in the 2600 block of N. Upton Avenue. He was taken to North Memorial Health Hospital with a gunshot wound and died, according to the Hennepin County Medical Examiner s Office.
Police have yet to announce any arrests in the city s 34th homicide this year.
Vaughn s death was among several shootings that weekend.
