The announcement: ViacomCBS Australia and New Zealand today announced that its first original Australian commissioned drama series, Spreadsheet, has begun production in Melbourne for Paramount+. Starring UK actress Katherine Parkinson (The IT Crowd, Doc Martin), Spreadsheet features a stellar cast including Stephen Curry, Robbie Magasiva, Rowan Witt, Katrina Milosevic, Ryan Shelton, Zahra Newman, Tina Bursill and Richard Piper. Produced by Northern Pictures in association with ITV Studios and created by Kala Ellis, Spreadsheet is an eight-part comedy series about divorced, hectic mother-of-two, Lauren (Katherine Parkinson) who is looking for sex without commitment.

ABC, AIDC, Northern Pictures announce Indigenous Documentary Placement

May 28th, 2021 By David Knox Make a commentFiled under: News, Filmmaker Daniel King has been named the inaugural recipient of the Indigenous Documentary Placement, a new initiative co-presented by the ABC, Northern Pictures and the Australian Documentary Conference. Daniel, a descendent of the Yuin and Awabakal nations, will develop his skills in documentary, factual development and production through an eight-month placement with the ABC and Northern Pictures from late May. Daniel is a documentary filmmaker, cinematographer and editor who, for more than a decade, has focused on telling the stories of First Nations peoples. He directed the 2020 feature-length documentary Trading Cultures, screened on NITV / SBS, which traced the collaboration between three Indigenous Australian artists and three artists from Makassar in South Sulawesi.
