Seven new species of birds found in wetlands

Kolleru, Uppalapadu and Kondakarla are the homes of birds and migratory birds in our state. Bird lovers visit these areas mostly in our state. Otherwise, they go to areas where there are more swamps like Rajasthan and Gujarat. Now new birds are visible in the wetlands around Vijayawada. There are seven new bird species that have not been recorded in the Krishna district. 25 foreign bird species migrating from far off places appeared. A total of 156 species of birds are wandering in this area. These were found in the first phase of the bird count in the ponds and fields in the city s surroundings under the vijayawada nature club.

Infosys Foundation pumps Rs. 30 crore for Lake rejuvenation; gives it a new life Once dying water body now has fresh air,  unpolluted and pleasant surroundings Mysore/Mysuru: The vast Hebbal Lake has sprung back to life. The dead Lake has been rejuvenated in what is being described as the biggest and successful lake conservation project under the Public-Private-Partnership (PPP) model in the State. Infosys Foundation joined hands with the Mysuru District Administration and other stakeholders and has conserved the 48-acre Lake after the Foundation pumped in a whopping Rs. 30 crore funding for restoration works under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). The Lake has now been brought back to life and along with restoration, the Lake campus has been beautified, re-attracting various species of birds. And like Kukkarahalli Lake and Karanji Lake, this lake too is set to become a tourist hub and a birding hotspot of Mysuru.

Over 30,000 Birds Migrate to Iran s Gandoman Wetland From Siberia in Winter Published December 20th, 2020 - 10:39 GMT Gandoman wetland (Twitter) Highlights Located at the foot of the Zagros mountains in north-western Iran, Zarivar is a freshwater wetland hosting over 74 bird species, which is designated as a Ramsar Site. Over 30,000 migratory birds have come from their habitats in Central Asian countries and Siberia to winter in Gandoman wetland, southwestern Chaharmahal-Bakhtiari province. Currently, 50 species of birds live in the wetlands of the province, Shahram Ahmadi, head of the province’s department of environment, said on Saturday. These birds include ducks, Eurasian teal, egrets, herons, flamingos, small and large grebes, sandpipers, coots, bitterns, northern lapwing, large white-headed gulls, and sternidae.
