Bail hearing adjourned for Moosomin First Nation man

Swiftwolfe has been in custody since his arrest Dec. 6, 2020, after multiple RCMP detachments worked together to locate him. He was wanted on charges of assault, uttering threats, several weapons-related offences, and flight from police. He was considered armed and dangerous when he was at large. When police arrested Swiftwolfe they say they found a loaded firearm in the vehicle within his reach. The charges against Swiftwolfe haven’t been proven in court. His bail hearing was adjourned to Jan. 19 in North Battleford Provincial Court. Moosomin First Nation is about 22 kilometres north of North Battleford.

Alberta Man Facing Drug Trafficking Charges Gets Bail in NB Court An Alberta man facing drug trafficking charges was granted bail after a show cause hearing in North Battleford Provincial Court Jan. 15. Lowen Diehl, 36, will be released after he pays $10,000 cash bail and a $10,000 surety to the court. In addition, he must remain at his home in Alberta on 24-hour house arrest. North Battleford RCMP arrested Diehl on Dec. 7, 2020, after they received a report from a concerned citizen about an erratic driver. Police located the SUV on Highway 16 and arrested Diehl. When police searched the SUV they found a large amount of Canadian currency, about 15 kg of methamphetamine, about one kg of cocaine, a small amount of fentanyl, and one kg of an unidentified substance. Police say the methamphetamine equals about 150,000 individual doses and the cocaine equals about 1,000 individual doses.

Tom Beck, the Officer in Charge of North Battleford RCMP Detachment, applauded the diligence of both the members of the public who contacted them and the police officers responding to the call.

Clinton had a show cause hearing in North Battleford Provincial Court on Jan. 4 but was remanded in custody. He is now scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 14 to speak to the matter. He is charged with unlawful confinement, assault with a weapon, uttering death threats, carrying a weapon for a dangerous purpose, wearing a mask in the commission of an offence, possessing ammunition while prohibited, possessing brass knuckles while prohibited, possessing Mace while prohibited, possession of property obtained by crime, break and enter and commit robbery, commit bank card fraud over $5,000 and two counts of possession of a controlled substance.
