Company’s $9 million expansion at 2 central Pa. facilities expected to add 50 new jobs Updated 3:49 PM; Schuylkill County-based Cardinal Systems Inc. will invest nearly $9 million into a multi-site expansion, Gov. Tom Wolf announced on Friday in a press release. The 45-year-old company will expand its existing operation and production capacity at its facilities in North Manheim Township, Schuylkill County, and Manchester Township, York County, and will retain more than 300 jobs and create nearly 60 new, full-time jobs, Wolf said. Cardinal Systems is a custom fabricator and manufacturer of steel wall panels, thermomoulded and extruded plastic products, and vinyl pool liners. The company is owned by Rachel Bradley.

Bradley Klare, of Pottsville, was driving south on Gordon Nagle Trail in North Manheim Township when he crossed the double yellow lines at the SPCA Road intersection at about 3:09 p.m., state police said. State police said Klare’s Chevrolet Cruze collided with an International Harvester driven by a 46-year-old from Reading, Berks County. Klare was not wearing a seatbelt and was thrown from his car, according to state police. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

One person is dead following a crash in Schuylkill County. The wreck happened around 3 p.m. Thursday along Route 901, also known as Gordon Nagle Trail in North Manheim Township. According to state police, 33-year-old Bradley Klare, of Pottsville, was traveling south and crossed into oncoming traffic colliding with a tractor trailer. Klare was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the rig is okay. As of 9:30 p.m. on Thursday, the road reopened.
