The Northern States Governors’ Forum (NSGF) has said the killing of Nigerian soldiers must not be allowed to continue, describing the recent killing of 12 soldiers in Konshisha Local Council, Benue State, as condemnable. Chairman of the Forum, Governor Simon Lalong of Plateau State, while sympathising with the Nigerian Army over the incident, said: “Such must not be allowed to happen again, as it is capable of demoralising security personnel from giving their best in securing the country.” In a statement issued on Tuesday night by Lalong’s Director of Press and Public Affairs, Dr. Makut Simon Macham, the forum sympathised with the families of the slain soldiers and the Nigerian Army over the incident, which occurred when the soldiers were on duty.
