Again, the Northern States Governors Forum has condemned another attack on Government Secondary School, Jangebe in Zamfara State where where hundreds of schoolgirls were abducted.
In a statement, Chairman of the Forum and Governor of Plateau State Simon Bako Lalong said this trend is unacceptable and strong measures must be taken to put an end to it before it escalates into a monster that will consume educational pursuit and national aspirations.
Governor Lalong said this development which is coming on the heels of the abduction of school children in Kagara, Niger State still being addressed, calls for serious concerns among all Nigerians.

Lalong laments state of institutions, corporate interests set up by Sardauna for the North

Chairman of Northern States Governors Forum and Governor of Plateau State, Simon Bako Lalong, has expressed regrets over the state of institutions and corporate interests set up by Sardauna Ahmadu Bello for the benefit of the people, saying some of these institutions are struggling to survive while others have already gone aground.
He therefore, charged his colleagues not to “allow the situation to go beyond this, hence the need for us to take a deep look at what we can do to turn the tide.”

The Federal Government will continue to fight the bandits in the Northern region and other parts of the country.
The President, Muhammad Buhari, disclosed this in Kaduna during a crucial meeting affecting the region on Thursday.
Represented by the Chief of Staff, Professor Ibrahim Gambari, Buhari said he appreciated the efforts put by the Northern Governors in tackling insecurity affecting the region.
But he was quick to add that they have to put in more efforts to ensure that we secured the region and other parts of the region.
According to the President, the Federal Government will continue to fight the bandits.

President Muhammad Buhari has tasked the new Service Chiefs to adopt new strategies in tackling insecurity bedevilling the country.
The President gave the charge in his remarks at the Northern States Governors Forum (NSGF) meeting in Kaduna.
“Adopt new strategies and come up with plans that will end this ugly situation where the lives of our people are continue to be threatening by criminals.
“the government will continue to deal with insurgents, bandits, kidnappers and other criminals who continue to threaten the innocent citizens across the country”.
Represented by His Chief of staff, Professor Ibrahim Gambari, the President condemned all act of criminality, saying that criminals are criminals and should be dealt with accordingly without result to ethnic value.
