The Army is set to assist the North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) as it struggles to meet the rising demand caused by the Covid-19 crisis. It has been revealed that NWAS clinicians will receive military support with responses to some non-emergency patients in the North West region. And Barrow MP Simon Fell believes the Army’s assistance should serve as a warning to the region’s residents. He said: “This shows just how much pressure our NHS is under right now. This further reinforces the need for everyone to continue to stay at home wherever possible and to follow the rules.
