2-year-old boy dies in apparent drowning in York County stormwater tunnel

Police in York County are investigating after a 2-year-old boy was found in a stormwater tunnel after an apparent drowning Sunday.
According to the Northern York County Regional Police Department, officers were called to the 1300 block of North Duke Street in North York around 6:29 p.m. for a report of a missing child. The boy was last seen in the backyard of the home about 15 minutes prior.
Officers began a search, bringing in a K-9 unit from the York County Sheriff’s Department.
A volunteer found the boy unresponsive around 8:15 p.m. in a storm-water tunnel that runs along East 10th Ave., police say. He was found in the water about 300 feet from the tunnel entrance.

Police said Henise confessed to having sexual intercourse” with the student after she turned 18.
A spokesperson for York Country Day School, Mary Dolheimer, has said Henise was “immediately terminated.”
Joe Gothie, Henise’s attorney, asked the judge to impose the punishment ahead of a previously scheduled sentencing date of March 18 because his client had already served the minimum.
Later, Senior Deputy Prosecutor Erin Kraska moved to dismiss the remaining charges of institutional sexual assault.
