The Union health ministry on Sunday said 2.24 lakh beneficiaries have been given COVID-19 vaccines in the first two days of India s countywide vaccination drive against the novel coronavirus infection and 447 cases of adverse events after inoculation have been reported.
The six states where the vaccination drive was carried out on Sunday are Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Manipur and Tamil Nadu,informed Health Ministry

Hardly over 17,000 beneficiaries were vaccinated against the novel coronavirus disease on the second day of the first phase of India s immunisation drive. With a total of 17,072 beneficiaries receiving their first jab on January 17, the total number of people who have received the COVID-19 vaccine in India rose to 2,24,301, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said.
On Day two of the nationwide vaccination drive, the Health Ministry said that out of the 447 adverse events following immunisation, three required hospitalisations.
